The Eastern Cape Development Corporation is inviting Production companies, that are in the middle of shooting productions in the Eastern Cape, to submit applications for consideration to attend the upcoming MIP Africa at Fame Week 2025.
Through this initiative the ECDC aims to support selected producers to attend MIP at Fame Week 2025, thus giving them access to knowledge, networking, and inspiration to grow their career at the closed pitching sessions.
The closed Pitching Sessions are exclusive, behind-closed-doors opportunities where selected creators present their projects directly to a panel of top industry decision-makers — including broadcasters, streamers, distributors, and producers — in a focused, private setting.
Selected producers will get an opportunity to attend the closed pitch sessions and observe or learn how pitching is done. Attending this session will give filmmakers and producers an opportunity to apply for pitching for MIP Africa 2026.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
Production companies and producers of Film and Television currently working on productions but require industry advice or partnerships.
The programme is open to Eastern Cape producers or filmmakers with an active project under development. The producer must not have participated in an international lab/ pitching programme or market before.
PROJECT EVALUATION PROCESS
Projects must have first draft script available
Technical Evaluation – Application will be evaluated according to eligibility criteria.
Project Evaluation – A panel of industry professionals will evaluate the submission and project package
Announcement of official selection – Public announcement of participants.
HOW TO APPLY:
Applicants must submit motivations that outline how the event can be of significance to their production companies, and how they could leverage from the partnerships.
