ACTION PACKED PROGRAMME FOR DAY 2 OF EASTERN CAPE FILM EXPO


Its Day 2 of the third Eastern Cape Film Expo, and we are looking forward to an action-packed day. Day 2 moves to the Settlers Monument after an entertaining and informative first day at the Joza Youth Centre.


The programme kicked off with addresses from the Eastern Cape Development Corporation’s (ECDC) chief executive officer Ayanda Wakaba, and Executive Mayor of the Sarah Baartman District Municipality Councillor Deon de Vos.


Today’s programme includes addresses from the acting chief executive officer of the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), Dr Rirhandzu Machaba, testimonial from Sisanda Henna of Sisanda Henna Films, funding presentations from the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), and a masterclass on Unpacking the Landscape of Sales and Distribution – Journey to Market Access by Simon Makwela of Maureen Grace.


There is also a panel discussion on the cards dealing with a Road to Market Access for the Film Industry – An Overview of Market Shifts, Untapped Potentials. The panel discussion will be facilitated by Tshedza Pictures’ Khobi Ledwaba, and will include panelists Sivuyisiwe Giba from SivuBuhle Media, Multichoice’s Tebogo Matlawa, acting head of South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Content, Video Entertainment, Tshilidzi Davhana and New Brighton Entertainment’s Luzuko Dilima.


The day will end with more than two hours of screenings of riveting films and documentaries.
