Mr. Max Mbuti of Flat-Foot Engineering gave an inspiring testimony of the impact the ECDC has had on his business through funding opportunities, participation in the ECDC organised Trade Mission, Exporter Development Programme and Manager Trainee Programme that opened new markets for flat-foot engineering and gained the company international partnerships. Stakeholder Briefing (OR Tambo Region)

13 December 2021


With the ECDC's strong property footprint and great potential for development in the OR Tambo Region including the Wild Coast, the Corporation met with Stakeholders in the region to unpack its plans and work done amidst the institutional renewal process.


Attended by business representatives from Local and District Municipalities, Organised Businesses, Government Departments and Private Investors; the need for strategic collaborations became a focal point to ensure development.

Giving a powerful talk on developing the Eastern Cape and its people, Ms Elsubie Virlinden, born and bred in the OR Tambo region called on all government institutions, private sector and individuals in the Eastern Cape to empower the youth of the Eastern Cape, especially their talent! View Ms Virlinden's video and the impact she has made in developing the youth and nurturing local talent into international platforms.


The Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism has directed the ECDC to reposition itself as a central economic development agency playing a central role in provincial economic development coordination and influencing economic policy development. In driving the Eastern Cape vision, partnerships and collaborations key.


The ECDC is working on launching the new ECDC trajectory by 01 April 2022.
