Eastern Cape at Expo 2020 Dubai

Today, the Eastern Cape showcased its trade and investment opportunities at the greatest showcase stage, the South African Pavilion, at Expo 2020 Dubai. The showcase was facilitated by the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition in partnership with the Eastern Cape Development Corporation, the provincial investment promotion agency.


Joining the showcase was the MEC for Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism with the two Eastern Cape Special Economic Zones; Coega Development Corporation and East London Development Zone, the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency, Eastern Cape Rural Development Agency as well as the two metro municipalities of the province; Buffalo City Metro and Nelson Mandela Bay Metro. Below are the presentations of the unique selling points of each of the entities that joined.

"I invite you to join the Eastern Cape Province today as we take you through the investment and trade opportunities found in our beautiful vibrant province. On the programme today, we will be sharing detailed information on specific opportunities in various sectors within the province with the intention of rebuilding investor trust in the Eastern Cape.


The COVID-19 pandemic which resulted into an economic meltdown across the world’s market has presented the Eastern Cape with an opportunity to evaluate its investment environment for foreign direct investments. This has propelled forward thinking, better coordination and streamlined regulations to increase the ease of doing business."
