Posted on: Friday, 29 July 2005. Article source: The Herald
The Coega Development Corporation (CDC) has awarded a R71 million contract to a consortium led by Deloitte Consulting to start developing an information and communications technology (ICT) system.
The system would "put the Coega Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) at a globally competitive level", the CDC said in a statement.
The contract awarded to develop the system is for two years.
The system would "help investors to source information-related water and electricity rates and maintenance, while those who need information regarding business intelligence will also benefit.
"(It) will also integrate the customs control issues, which are increasingly becoming a problem for many ports and industrial zones in general." The consortium was made up of Deloitte Consulting, Nokusa Consulting and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Works.
