The CDC said that the number of factories could rise to ten by the end of the year.
The Cerebos factory was completed in nine months, and operations were scheduled to start in August.
Cerebos last year announced its expansion and relocation investment in a pure vacuum-dried (PVD) salt producing facility in the Coega IDZ. The plant was one of only a few PVD salt-processing plants on the continent and would target a growing global demand.
"This move gives further indication that the Coega IDZ is gaining momentum each day. We have delivered on the expectations of our investor and have proven our commitment to high standards of excellence. We continue to improve our responsiveness to investor requirements within specified deadlines," said CDC spokesperson Ongama Mtimka.
