Chintsa River Golf Estate, near East London, has been given the final go-ahead by the provincial agriculture department.
Pam Golding Properties says local approval from the Great Kei Municipality is imminent, and 50% of stands in the first phase of development have already been sold.
The remaining 52 stands in this phase are now selling, starting at R372, 000, with a choice of homes to be built. Stand sizes starts at 700mē.
Pam Golding Properties says the Chintsa development will include a 600-home housing complex, a 160-room exclusive hotel and an 18-hole championship golf course and golf academy, as well as sports and entertainment facilities and an office park and retail centre.
The group says the development will boost the economy in the East London area and will provide further impetus to increasing property values in the area.
The Chintsa River Golf Estate is situated on nearly 500ha of land, with 2km of river frontage and views over the ocean and Chintsa beach.
It is bordered by the Inkwenkwezi private game reserve.
The estate is being developed by international property developer David Eastall.
House construction is expected to start in September.
