East London accelerates Porsche delivery
Posted on: Friday, 04 April 2003. Article source: Eastern Cape Business News
PORSCHE SOUTH Africa has decided to speed up delivery by importing through East London rather than Port Elizabeth. Porsche says the move will save two days on delivery to Randburg, Gauteng. National Ports Authority spokesperson Terry Taylor says the Porsche decision is helping the harbour to achieve its vision of being a major vehicle import and export hub. National Ports Authority (NPA) spokesperson Terry Taylor said the Porsche investment was the beginning of the realisation of the NPA's vision. "Having such manufacturers joining in is an achievement. Now we have DaimlerChrysler and Porsche, two of the biggest names in the automotive industry, using our port. That must mean we are doing something right," he said.
