DISADVANTAGED communities in the Buffalo City area have been given a R10-million boost to promote tourism development. The money, which is part of the Hemingway’s Casino bid conditions, has been used to create the Amatola Trust Fund. According to the fund’s chairperson, Nosipho Damasane, the money will be used to help develop disadvantaged communities, tourism-related projects and tourism infrastructure projects. Tourism Buffalo City managing director Glenton de Kock said the financial injection would help boost Buffalo City's dream of becoming a major tourism destination.
