R43 million building plans passed

The Buffalo City Municipality passed building plans to the value of R42,9 million in July – this is up more than 30 per cent on plans submitted for the same month last year. A total of 383 plans were passed in July. The municipality has passed 1 995 building plans with a total value of R273,7 million for this year.

The Eastern Cape government is considering Buffalo City getting metropolitan status, confirmed Premier Nosimo Balindlela.
Local fishing skills development academy opened

Eight local fishing companies have opened a training academy at Port St Johns to improve skills and contribute to worker upliftment. Courses offered not only cater for aspects directly related to the fishing industry but also included basic life skills and small business training, accounting, tax and related matters.
