David Eastall, who plans to build a R1 billion golfing and holiday estate at Cintsa, has signed for more land at Kidd's Beach and Kei Mouth for similar projects.
Eastall's latest multi-million-rand spending spree was confirmed by the project manager of the proposed Cintsa River Golfing Estate, Piet Jonas of townplanners Setplan.
Jonas confirmed that Eastall has made an offer for farm land in the Kidd's Beach and Kei Mouth areas.
He said the latest purchases were part of a bigger plan that Eastall has for the development of the area as a primary golfing estate.
Jonas said all the land purchases were subject to the rezoning of the land for a golfing estate development.
Eastall first acquisition in Cintsa is for a 10-year project which is to comprise two 18-hole golf courses, a 500-home housing complex, a 360-room holiday resort, a desalination plant and adjacent golf academy project.
Eastall's equity partner, the Disability Empowerment Concerns Trust, which represents 4,8 million disabled people in South Africa, remains part of the deal.
Eastall's CV states that he has been involved in property development for 40 years, including projects in the Caribbean, Mexico and Middle East.
It says that he has been involved in charity work for many years and that he is vice-chairman of Charity Golf, an organisation that will have raised more than R14m in five years following a Charity Golf event in Mallorca, Spain, last month.
Eastall was also involved in the development of the Santa Ponsa Country Club in Mallorca.
